Urwerk has launched the UR-300 Time Quantum with a jumping wandering-hours display: each hour a spring-loaded rack drops off a cam and snaps the display forward 72° in an instant, flipping the two 'atoms' and rotating the hour cubes. The titanium case measures 45.2 x 58.8mm and 18.25mm high, in bare titanium or with an AlTiN coating. It runs on the automatic UR-30.01V at 4Hz with a 44-hour power reserve. It is limited to 50 pieces (25 of each version) at CHF 168,000.

Why it matters: A fresh evolution of Urwerk's signature wandering-hours display.
