Minerva, the historic Villeret manufacture founded in 1858 and long associated with Montblanc, now returns as a standalone brand with the Exo Tourbillon Skeleton Limited Edition 18 (ref. 137551). The 44.8mm, 15.1mm-thick 18k rose gold case houses the fully skeletonised, hand-wound calibre M18.69, with 188 components, a 2.5Hz beat and the patented Exo Tourbillon, in which the balance sits outside the tourbillon cage. It offers around 50 hours of power reserve and 30m water resistance. It is limited to 18 pieces; the price has not been confirmed but is expected to exceed €180,000.
Why it matters: One of the great names of Swiss chronograph-making is back under its own name.
